It is worth noting that there is no such thing as the perfect motorhome hire vehicle as they all have more of this and less of that or less of that and more of this. However, here at our office in Torbay and our convenient handover point just 150 yards from the A38 between Ashburton and Newton Abbot, we pride ourselves on the feedback we receive, which is second to none and getting the vehicle right is a large part of that. Of course you can only hire what is available but you will find that we are very honest in our assessment of your needs and their compatibility with the various vehicles.
It is also worth noting that while Go South West Motorhomes for rent compare very favourably with tents and smaller VW or other panel vans, it is still camping so sensible packing and no Samsonite suitcases please.
It is also worth having a think about where you are heading as camp sites vary in terms of facilities and access and we have motorhomes for hire in Devon of varying lengths. Always a good idea to check with your campsite as they will highlight the best access route so VERY wise to follow their guidance and maps are frequently better than satnav. It is great to have the flexibility and freedom that motorhome rental brings to relocate your holiday base but a little thought and planning certainly helps.
Camping and Caravanning Club
In general though it is good to know that the vehicles are Privilege members of the “Camping and Caravanning Club” which offers discounted stays on camp sites all over the country and which usually means good access for motorhomes as well. Their sites also include Camping in the Forest locations. The sites will usually also have good facilities and many have shops. Many people prefer a wilder experience without all the facilities and we can show you how to make the most of your vehicle in the environment although occasional stays on site are advisable to empty and fill tanks.
Campsites
There are literally thousands of camp sites in the UK and much as we would like to we have not visited all of them. A beautiful small campsite in a pub garden with private hedge bordered pitches, good facilities and fabulous, super quality food and drink in contemporary surroundings…Great for first night or last night as 2 miles away if you have travelled far and food vouchers from us for last night if you want them. Great breakfast too and easy access!
This camping and touring site has level terraced pitches with 2 modern shower blocks. There are 100 touring pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes etc. of which 25 are hardstanding. There are also 12 super pitches, which are larger in size and are bordered by hedges for extra privacy.
On Parkers farm https://www.parkersfarmholiday... is a family bar and restaurant with entertainment during the main season. We have indoor and outdoor play areas with trampolines and regular farm walks to meet and feed the farm animals.
They also have tractor rides during the high season which are very popular. Wifi is now available on the park. Dogs are very welcome. Short breaks are available.

As St Ives is impossible to drive through in a motorhome, what better location than this medium size site with lovely shower blocks which can be easily accessed on the edge of town (follow their directions) and is then walking distance (steep) from the beaches, harbour and centre of town… perfect!

With their own private beach and updated facilities this is a beautiful place to stay near Padstow for everyone and one can even watch life boat drill midweek from the beach with the launching ramp across the bay… magical!

If you want to go abroad there is additional Euro insurance of £125 per week or part week reducing to £70 on the third week which includes additional Euro insurance premium, breathalysers, headlamp adjusters, Euro hook up adaptor and all the other kit required to be street legal on the continent.
We include sensible mileage in hires but reserve the right to discuss this if deemed excessive for the length of the hire. We have vehicles in Scotland, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal this year.
